Alpha

Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith.† We gather together weekly from Tuesday, October 2nd for 11 sessions†to think about such topics as

'Why did Jesus die?', 'What does the Holy Spirit do?',†'Does God heal today?'

On each Tuesday there will be an afternoon session at 2.30pm at Ellerbrook House, County Road, Ormskirk and an evening session in New Church House at 7.45pm.†

The approach is informal and the emphasis is on finding out together.† After a short talk based on the Bible, we discuss, ask questions, and sometimes draw on each other's different experiences in life, to discover more about the person and significance of Jesus.

We try to start from where our guests are, some are more, and some less, familiar with the Christian life, but all have something to conribute.† Most complete the course; appreciating the opportunity for reflection and the friendships made.

There will be a lunch at Ellerbrook at 1pm prior to the first afternoon session and a light supper in New Church House at 7.45pm at the first evening session. There will also be an inter-church Alpha launch at 8pm on Wednesday 26th September at Ormskirk Cricket Club. This will include a light meal and be a chance to hear more about the Alpha course.
