The official announcement is below
From the Archdeacon of Knowsley, Sefton and West Lancashire
'I am pleased to announce that Rev Andrew Bailey has been appointed as interim priest of charge of Ormskirk Parish church.
He is currently curate at Penny Lane church in Liverpool. Before ordination, he was a student at Liverpool John Moores University studying biology and became an assistant at the chaplaincy. He has also worked as student pastor at St James in the City in Liverpool. He trained for ordination at Trinity College in Bristol. He enjoys motorcycling, photography, gaming, movies, music and eating food as well as making it!
The interview panel were delighted to meet him and listen to his passion for church revitalisation and believe that he has a great heart for collaboration which will enable him to honour the church’s history and engage people in the journey of change.
I am very grateful to those on the interview panel, the parish representatives, Andrew Burke and Wendy Hill, as well as Judith Bradshaw and Chris Spittle as the Area Dean for all the time they have given to this discernment process. Thank you all for your prayers during this time.
There are a number of practicalities needing to be arranged including a date for a licensing service but we will continue to liaise with the PCC over this. The deanery leadership team are also close to making a recommendation about providing ministry and leadership at Lathom Park Chapel in the future.’

Be assured that we will be keeping you in our prayers too’
